Step-by-Step Drawing Guide
Step 1: Sketch the Curly Antennae

Start near the top center and draw two long curved lines that open outward. Add a small spiral at the tip of each line, like a gentle curl. Keep the antennae similar in height so they feel balanced.
Pro Tip: Keep both antennae similar in height, but curl them in opposite directions.
Step 2: Add the Rounded Head and Cute Face

Under the antennae, sketch a big rounded head shape, like a soft jelly bean. Leave a small gap at the bottom for now so you have room to attach the body later. Add two oval eyes near the upper middle, then place a small curved smile between them.
Pro Tip: Keep both eyes level, and center the smile between them for balance.
Step 3: Add the Segmented Body and Tail

Attach a rounded body bump to the right side of the head, keeping the join smooth. Then add several curved segment lines that step down and taper slightly. This creates a layered lobster tail that feels soft and cute.
Pro Tip: Keep the segment spacing even, and make each section slightly smaller toward the end.
Step 4: Add the Fan-Shaped Tail Fins

At the very end of the tail, add three rounded “petal” shapes for the tail fan. Make the middle fin slightly longer than the two side fins. Let each fin attach near the last segment and curve down softly.
Pro Tip: Keep the three fins similar in width with small gaps for a neat, cute look.
Step 5: Add the Small Walking Legs

Under the body near the start of the tail, sketch several thin short legs hanging down. Finish each leg with a small teardrop or oval “foot.” Space them in a neat row so the lobster looks like it could take tiny steps.
Pro Tip: Keep the feet similar in size, and make the back legs slightly shorter.
Step 6: Add the Two Big Claws

Near the lower left of the head, draw a big rounded claw shape, like a soft mitten. Cut a curved opening at the front and add a smaller inner “pincher” piece. Draw the second claw slightly larger and overlapping in front to create depth.
Pro Tip: Make the front claw slightly bigger and clearer, and let the back claw hide behind it.
Step 7: Color in your drawing!

Fun Facts
- Lobsters have long antennae that help them sense their surroundings underwater.
- A lobster’s tail is made of sections, which helps it curl and move quickly.
- Lobsters use their claws to grab food and to protect themselves.
Pin it now, Draw later!

You now have a complete cartoon lobster with curly antennae, a friendly face, a segmented tail, and big claws. If you want to color it, try a bright red lobster, or choose orange with darker red shadows under the belly and claws. Add a light gray shadow under the lobster to help it feel grounded.
A common beginner mistake is making the claws too small compared to the head. If that happens, gently redraw them bigger and rounder.
Keep practicing this step by step drawing, and try changing the expression or claw pose next time. When you are ready, draw another sea creature in the same cute style.
