Step-by-Step Drawing Guide
Step 1: Draw the Upper-Left Curve

Start near the top and draw a smooth arc, like an upside-down “C.”
Let both ends dip slightly downward so you can connect the heart later.
Pro Tip: Keep the arc smooth and unbroken for a cleaner heart shape.
Step 2: Pull Down the Left Side to a Point

Start at the left end of the top arc and draw a long curve downward.
Let it bulge outward, then narrow in as you reach a pointed bottom tip.
Pro Tip: Place the bottom point under the top arc for better symmetry.
Step 3: Add the Upper-Right Curve

Start at the top center dip and draw a rounded arc to the right for the second lobe.
Let the end curve slightly downward, matching the left side’s height.
Pro Tip: Keep the right arc’s curve similar to the left for a balanced heart.
Step 4: Draw the Right Side and Close the Point

From the end of the upper-right arc, draw a smooth curve down the right side.
Let it taper in and connect neatly to the bottom point to close the heart.
Pro Tip: Use one smooth stroke and meet the bottom point without a gap.
Step 5: Add a Highlight on the Upper Left

Draw a small rounded “bean” or curved rectangle inside the upper-left part of the heart.
Angle it to follow the heart’s curve, keeping the corners soft.
Pro Tip: Keep the highlight small, and leave space around it for a shiny look.
Step 6: Add a Small Second Highlight

Draw a smaller rounded dot under the first highlight, like a tiny droplet.
Place it slightly to the left so the two highlights feel like a matching pair.
Pro Tip: Make the second highlight simpler and smaller, and leave a small gap.
Step 7: Color in your drawing!

Fun Facts
- The “heart” symbol does not match the real shape of a human heart.
- Heart icons became popular in art and letters to represent love and care.
- Adding highlights is a simple trick that makes flat shapes feel shiny.
Pin it now, Draw later!

If you want a bold look, trace the outline once more with steady pressure.
You can color the heart red and leave the highlights white for a glossy effect.
Try drawing a few hearts in different sizes to build confidence and control.

Can I draw a heart without lifting my pen?
Yes—practice one smooth outline, moving slowly through the curves.
