How to Draw Princess Peach

Hello, and welcome to another fun 10-step tutorial. Today, we will draw Princess Peach!

Princess Peach appeared as a lovely original character in the Nintendo universe. She made her debut in 1955 as the distressed princess that Mario needed to save, so she was a huge part of the game! In Japan, she is called Princess Toadstool. Internationally, she’s known as Princess Peach! She rules over the lovely Mushroom Kingdom as a fair and kind ruler.

Even though she began as a damsel in distress, her role evolved over time to be an adventurous and powerful character. She even has her own powers. For example, in later games, she could use her emotions as power—for example, making a protective shield out of happiness! She also appears in games such as Mario Kart, where she races Mario, Luigi, and other characters from the Nintendo world.

Let’s get started on the tutorial. Find some art materials and keep reading for Step 1. As always, we will have visual steps accompanying the written instructions!

How to Draw Princess Peach — Let’s get started!

Step 1 – Draw Princess Peach’s hair.

First, we will draw her hair. She has very pretty long blonde hair that is one of her defining features.

Near the top of the page, we will draw the front of her hairstyle. Look at the photo for this step! Start with a small curved V shape for the center. Then, add bangs on either side.

Great job! We’re off to a good start.

Step 2 – Draw Princess Peach’s head.

Let’s draw her head now. Underneath her hair, draw a curve for the shape of her head. Draw two small swirls for her ears. Lastly, draw two circles for her earrings! Princess Peach, even when she’s racing or fighting and doing something adventurous, always looks beautiful.

Step 3 – Draw her face!

Draw two dots for her eyes. Next, add two small curves for her eyebrows. Add a little dot for her nose and a small smile, as well.

She is known for being kind and we want our drawing to reflect that!

Step 4 – Start drawing her beautiful dress.

Speaking of her costume, let’s start drawing her dress! She is famous for wearing a big pink dress, almost like a ball gown.

Begin by drawing two short vertical lines for her neck. Below that, draw a pentagon for the bodice of her dress. Next, draw puffy sleeves. Check out the photo!

Step 5 – Continue drawing her dress.

Let’s add more to her dress! Beneath the bodice, draw a series of curves stacked on top of each other. Put them on both sides. This forms beautiful draping fabric on the sides of her dress.

Step 6 – Finish her dress shape.

This is a big step! We are going to add the most distinct part of the dress—its beautiful flowing skirt.

From the curves you drew in Step 5, draw two slanting lines extending down and out. Connect them with a scalloped line. This is the bottom of her dress. Draw another scalloped line just above the one you just drew for more detail. Next, draw some slanted lines to show the folds of her skirt.

Great job! She’s really starting to look like she does in the Mario universe.

Step 7 – Add her arms.

Let’s draw her arms. Draw them extending out from her puffy sleeves. Additionally, draw elbow-length gloves on her! After all, she is very elegant. To do this, simply draw little scalloped lines across her arm by her elbow.

Step 8 – Complete her hair.

Like we said, she has a beautiful hairstyle and long blonde hair. We need to add to its length in this step.

Draw long curves that show her hair cascading down her back. Check out the photo if you need help! It doesn’t have to be perfect.

Step 9 – Complete Princess Peach’s costume.

Finally, add the last detail to the costume.

Her family’s background is somewhat mysterious, but we know Peach has always been the benevolent leader of the Mushroom Kingdom. So of course, she needs a beautiful shiny crown! Draw a crown centered on the top of her head. Make it pointy and draw a small circle to resemble a gem in the middle. Great job!

Step 10 – Color in Princess Peach!

Last but not least, let’s color! Peach is known for her iconic pink dress and golden crown. Her look is very iconic. However, have fun with this step and choose whatever colors you like! After all, sometimes she wears different outfits. If you’ve ever played a Nintendo game you probably know all about Princess Peach.
