Step-by-Step Drawing Guide
Step 1: Sketch the Big Eyes

Start by drawing two slightly tilted oval shapes for the gecko’s eyes.
Add a smaller circle inside each eye for the pupils, plus a tiny shine circle.
Pro Tip: Keep the gap between the eyes about one eye-width for a natural look.
Step 2: Draw the Gecko’s Head Shape

Draw one large curved line around both eyes to form the rounded head and cheeks.
Add a gentle curved chin line under the face, then draw a smiling mouth line.
Place two tiny dots above the mouth to mark the nostrils.
Pro Tip: Make the head outline slightly larger than the eyes to keep it cute.
Step 3: Add the Body and Spots

Extend a long curved line from the right side of the head to form the back and body.
Add a curved neck line under the head, then a lower curve for the belly so it looks resting.
Draw a few small half-circles and circles on the upper back for simple spots.
Pro Tip: Keep the back curve higher and rounder than the belly for a fuller body.
Step 4: Draw the Curly Tail and More Spots

Attach a thicker tail to the back of the body, then curl it into a big smooth spiral.
Add an inner spiral line that follows the curl to show the tail is rolled up.
Sprinkle a few extra small dots and curves on the tail and back for more pattern.
Pro Tip: Start the tail wider where it joins the body, then taper it as it curls inward.
Step 5: Add the Front Legs and Toes

Draw two short, curved tube shapes under the body for the front legs.
At the bottom of each leg, add three or four rounded toes like small petals.
Smooth the lines where the legs meet the body so they look firmly placed.
Pro Tip: Keep both front feet similar in size, and make the toes evenly rounded.
Step 6: Add the Back Leg and Foot

Draw a thicker curved tube under the back half of the body to form the back leg.
Add a rounded foot at the bottom, then draw three or four petal-like toes.
Smooth the join where the leg meets the belly so the pose feels steady.
Pro Tip: Make the back leg slightly larger than the front legs to show it supports weight.
Step 7: Color in your drawing!

Fun Facts
- Many geckos can climb walls because their toes have tiny gripping structures.
- Some geckos can drop their tails to escape predators, then grow them back later.
- Geckos often make chirps or clicks to communicate with each other.
Pin it now, Draw later!

Trace your final lines with a pen, then erase extra pencil marks gently.
You can color your gecko in greens, yellows, or even fun imaginary colors.
