How to Draw Ramadan Prayer Beads — Let’s get started!

Step 1 – Start With Two Small Beads.

How to Draw Prayer Beads - Step 1 - Start With Two Small Beads.

Let’s begin!

Start by drawing two small circles. One goes right above the other, slightly overlapping—like they’re giving each other a little hug. These are your first two prayer beads.

📝 Drawing tip: Try to keep your circles the same size so your beads look even. Don’t worry if they’re not perfect—real prayer beads are often a little different too!

Step 2 – Add Two More Beads.

Now draw one bead above and one below your first two. Keep the circles lightly touching or just overlapping.

🐛 Fun fact: In Arabic, prayer beads are called “Misbaha” or “Tasbeeh”. They help people stay focused during prayer by counting the names of Allah.

Take your time—this early section sets the shape for the whole drawing!

Step 3 – Continue the Curve.

Add more beads, gently curving around like the letter “C” or a rainbow. You’re starting to shape the full circle of your beads.

💡 Tip: Think of it like a necklace made of marbles. You want the same size and a smooth, even curve.

You can even sketch a very light circle outline first and follow it with your beads for a nice round shape.

Step 4 – Form a Full Circle.

Keep adding more beads until you’ve created about three-quarters of a circle. They should look like a string of bubbles, jellybeans, or little balloons hugging each other!

🎉 Pause break! Need a rest? That’s totally fine! Drawing is about patience and having fun.

Step 5 – Complete the Beads.

Now add the last few beads to close the circle. Great work!

You’ve now drawn a full loop of Ramadan prayer beads—how awesome is that?

🌟 Fun fact: Some prayer beads have 99 beads—one for each of the 99 names of Allah in Islam. That’s pretty amazing!

Step 6 – Draw the Connector Bead.

Time to add something special.

Where the two ends of your circle meet, draw a larger bead to connect them. This bead can be tear-drop shaped, oval, or even heart-shaped if you want to get creative!

💎 This bead acts like a centerpiece and connects to the tassel.

Step 7 – Sketch the Tassel Base.

From the bottom of your connector bead, draw a small, curved shape that flares outward—like a soft, sideways rectangle. This is the top of the tassel.

🎀 Fun fact: Tassels are often handmade using shiny thread like silk or cotton and are symbols of beauty and devotion.

Step 8 – Add Tassel Details.

Inside your tassel base, draw 3–5 short, wavy lines to create strands of thread. They can be straight, wavy, or zigzag—it’s totally up to you!

Make them look like they’re swaying gently in the breeze. This brings your drawing to life!

🎨 Great job! You’ve now drawn a full set of Ramadan prayer beads.

Step 9 – Color Your Drawing!

Now for the best part—coloring!

In the example we showed, we used:

Light blue for the beads

Yellow for the tassel

Black for outlines

But it’s your art—use whatever colors you like! Try a rainbow of beads, different shades of green, or even metallic gold and silver if you have them.

✨ Bonus tip: Add a tiny white oval or dot on each bead to make it look shiny and 3D—just like real polished beads!
