How to Draw a St. Patrick’s Day Clover — Let’s get started!

Step 1 – Start with the Stem.

How to Draw St. Patrick’s Day Clover - Step 1 - Start with the Stem.

Draw a small line going straight down. Then, add a little curved foot at the bottom, like a sideways letter “L.”
This is the beginning of your clover’s stem.

Drawing Tip: Use light pencil strokes at first so you can erase easily if needed.

Step 2 – Complete the Stem.

Now draw another curved line next to the first one. Both lines should gently curve outward to give the stem a fuller look.

Fun Fact: Shamrocks grow very close to the ground, but when you draw them, you can make them any size you want!

Step 3 – Start the First Leaf.

Time to start your first leaf!

From the top of the stem on the left side, draw a large curved line that loops outward and upward. It should look like half of a heart.

Step 4 – Finish the First Leaf.

Let’s draw the second leaf on the upper right side.

Draw another big curved line going up and to the right—like the top part of another heart.

Step 6 – Complete the Second Leaf.

Finish the heart by drawing the second curve, bringing it back to meet at the center above the stem.

You should now have two full leaves—one on the left and one on the right. Nice work!

Step 7 – Start the Third Leaf.
