How to Draw a Ramadan Mosque Drum — Let’s get started!
Step 1 – Draw the Drum Face.

Start with a vertical oval near the center of your paper. This is the front face of your mosque drum—the part that gets tapped!
🎨 Tip: You can turn your paper sideways if it helps make your oval nice and even. It doesn’t have to be perfect—your unique style is what makes it special!
Step 2 – Add the Drum Rim.

Next, draw a curved line just outside the top of the oval—like a little rainbow hugging it. This is the rim that holds the stretched skin tight for that deep “boom” sound!
🥁 Fun Fact: Real mosque drums are often made from wood and natural materials like goat skin!
Step 3 – Draw the Body of the Drum.

From the top right of the rim, draw a big curved line that swoops down and connects to the bottom right of the drum face. It should look like a long banana or sideways “D.”
This gives your drum a cool 3D look!
✏️ Sketch Lightly: It’s okay to try a few times—just erase and redraw until it feels right.
Step 4 – Complete the Drum Shape.

Now, connect the ends of that curved line with a short, curved line at the bottom. This finishes the bottom of your drum and gives it a full, rounded look.
Nice work—your drum is starting to take shape!
Step 5 – Draw the First Two Legs.

Let’s build the stand!
Under the drum, draw two vertical rectangles—one near the front and one a little farther back. These are the front legs of the stand that hold the drum upright.
📏 Tip: Use a ruler if you want those legs perfectly straight!
Step 6 – Add the Back Legs.

Add two more vertical rectangles, one next to each leg you just drew. These are the back legs of the stand, helping your drum look sturdy and balanced.
🧱 We’re building a strong base—this drum has places to be during Ramadan parades!
Step 7 – Draw the Wooden Crossbars.

Now, connect each pair of legs with horizontal lines—one near the top and one near the bottom.
These are called crossbars, and they keep the drum frame strong—like superhero beams for the stand!
🌍 Fun Fact: In places like Turkey and Lebanon, you might still see drummers waking people up during Suhoor!
Step 8 – Add the Decorative Edge.

Let’s make it look extra special!
Along the edge of the drum face (where the oval meets the body), draw a wavy or scalloped line—like little bumps or fluffy clouds all stuck together.
This shows the folded fabric or decorative border around the drumhead.
💡 Go Slow: Count the bumps to keep them even if it helps!
Step 9 – Color Your Drum!

Now the real fun begins—coloring time! 🎉
Try these ideas:
- Drum face: Light beige or pale yellow (like real animal skin)
- Drum body: Deep red, green, or royal blue
- Legs and crossbars: Brown (like wood)
- Scalloped edge: Gold, orange, or bright yellow for a pop of shine!
🌈 Pro Tip: Use crayons or colored pencils for a soft texture, or markers for bold color—like we used in the how to draw a raccoon project for fuzzy fur and cute features. Add a little shadow for extra dimension—and don’t forget to sign your name!
