How to Draw a Ramadan Mosque — Let’s get started!

Step 1 – Draw the Base of the Mosque.

How to Draw a Mosque - Step 1 - Draw the Base of the Mosque.

Start by drawing a wide horizontal rectangle near the bottom of your page. Round the corners slightly to make it look smooth and inviting.

Think of this as the “floor” or foundation that your mosque stands on!

🧠 Helpful Tip: Use a ruler or the edge of a book to keep your lines nice and straight.

Step 2 – Build the Main Structure.

From each end of the base, draw two vertical lines going upward. Then connect them across the top with another straight line.

You now have a big rectangle—this is the main hall of your mosque.

🕌 Design Tip: Most mosques are symmetrical, so try to make both sides even!

Step 3 – Add the Big Dome.

Time for the dome—the most iconic part!

From the top of the building, draw a big half-circle—a key feature in Islamic architecture drawing. It should curve smoothly from one corner to the other, like a rainbow sitting on your mosque.

🌙 Did You Know?

Domes help amplify sound inside, which makes prayers easier to hear.

Step 4 – Draw the Minaret Base.

Next to your mosque, draw a tall rectangle—this is the minaret, the tower used to call people to prayer. Make sure it’s taller than your dome.

📣 Fun Fact: In the past, a person (called a muezzin) would climb the minaret to call out the adhan (call to prayer)!

Step 5 – Add a Small Tower Room.

Add a square on top of the minaret. This is the tower room—traditionally where the call to prayer would be given.

🗼 Tip: It’s like a tiny room on top of the tower with a big job!

Step 6 – Add a Mini Dome on the Tower.

Now draw a smaller half-circle (mini dome) on top of the square. It matches the big dome but in miniature!

Step 7 – Add Crescent Moons and Design Details.

Draw a thin vertical line sticking up from each dome. At the end, draw a crescent moon—a traditional Islamic symbol.

Then, add a horizontal line just under the dome on the main building. This adds detail and design.

✨ Creative Boost: Draw small stars, dots, or hanging lanterns—like traditional Eid decorations—around your mosque to show it’s Ramadan!

Step 8 – Draw Doors and Windows.

Draw three tall doorways across the front. Give them arched tops to match real mosque designs.

Want more details? Add small windows above the doors or draw lanterns hanging by each arch.

🎨 Style Tip: Decorate your doors with swirls, dots, or little star patterns!
